Bargain Box Thrift & Consignment Shop

398 Hungerford Drive Rockville, MD

 

 

The Bargain Box is a thrift and consignment shop located in downtown Rockville a few blocks from the Church and just north of the Rockville Metro Station. It sells clothing and household items at very affordable prices. All volunteers are members or friends of Christ Church. Bargain Box proceeds support outreach programs in the local community.

 

HOURS: Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 4:30 p.m.

 

The "new side" of the Bargain Box is now open. Please come shop in our new, larger space. We are excited to have the extra space to display more treasures for you!

 

 

VOLUNTEER

 

• Front desk clerks, morning or afternoon, Monday through Saturday

• Sort & tag donations

• Consignment worker, Thursday and Friday, 10 am to 12 noon

 

FREE CLOTHING PROGRAM


As part of its outreach ministry, The Bargain Box provides free clothing to those in need.  With a Bargain Box referral form* completed by a local social service agency, clients may receive five items every three months.  Clients must be Montgomery County residents. The Bargain Box referral form is provided to agencies upon request.

 

DONATIONS


We welcome your donations of new and gently used clothing, jewelry, books, toys, and household items, Monday through Saturday, 10 to 4:30.   We give a receipt for tax purposes. 


We also welcome shopping bags, paper or plastic, all sizes!

 

 

We cannot accept and cannot sell the following:

      • Children's used car seats
      • Textbooks
      • Reader's Digest condensed books
      • Outdated travel guides and "news" magazines
      • Encyclopedias
      • Computers and computer monitors
      • Record players and/or Records
      • Television sets
      • VCR's
      • Upholstered furniture
      • Window shades and Venetian blinds
      • Food
      • Medicine and medical equipment (crutches, walkers, blood pressure gauges)
      • Exercise equipment: stationery bikes, rowing machines
      • Golf clubs and golf bags
      • Skis, ski boots, ski poles



 

CONSIGNMENTS


Consignments are accepted Thursday and Friday mornings, from 10 am to 12 noon. Consignors may come once a week and bring five items of clothing and five household items.  New consignors will be enrolled beginning May, 2010.   Information and forms may be downloaded.
