A Hearty WelcomeThe Episcopal Church in Rockville, Maryland welcomes you and we'd like to thank you for visiting our website. Whenever you are visiting our Rockville community we invite you to join us in worship at Christ Episcopal Church. And most of all, if you are new to the area, we hope that you'll make our Church yours! On behalf of all of us in the Christ church family, I warmly welcome you to our parish. At the core of my personal theology is the belief that each new person who comes to us is a special gift of God, and we seek to honor you with the return gift of our hospitality. Our website is designed to help you to become better acquainted with Christ Church. In it you will find our service schedules, directions to the church, and descriptions of many of our ministries and the opportunities they provide for community life, learning, and service to others. When you visit, we hope that you will make yourself known to us. Our clergy, vestry members, ushers, and any of our parishioners will be glad to assist you in any way we can. The visitor register in the entryway to the church helps us to keep track of those who have come to call. The “Voice From the Pew” forms in the pews provide a way to give and ask for information. There are many ways in which people affiliate with Christ Church. At the heart of our life is the beautiful worship tradition of the Episcopal Church, as part of the world-wide Anglican communion. We hope that you will be fed, nurtured, and sustained by our liturgy. But at the same time there is the invitation from Christ for transformation, renewal, and discipleship. Our Adult Covenant Class series, held twice a year, provides a deeper opportunity for faith sharing, formation in community, and discernment for new opportunities for personal ministry and service. If you are interested, please let us know. We are also strongly committed to the nurture and formation of our children and youth. Sunday School classes, children’s choir, acolytes, and youth group all provide wonderful opportunities for a sense of belonging, and faith development. Again, welcome to Christ Church! And may we continually discover each time that we gather that Christ, the Bread of Life, is taking our offering of ourselves and transforming us into himself. In this marvelous way we may see that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us, and right here in our midst.
Faithfully in Christ, The Rev. John S. McDuffie, Rector.
