Service Times

Christ Episcopal Church (CEC) is currently on it's Summer Schedule and we resume regular Schedule next week September 19th. During the Summer months CEC has two Sunday Services rather than three. The Summer scheduling makes it a great time to get reacquainted with fellow parishioners. The laity participates in leading worship. At the Sunday Eucharist, members of the congregation bring the bread and wine to the Altar at the offertory and serve as lectors for the reading of the lessons. Laity also serve as Acolytes, Lectors, Lay Liturgical Eucharistic Ministers, and Ushers. Frequently, a healing ministry takes place at a side Altar during the distribution of Communion. At the conclusion of the 10am Sunday Worship, Parishioners are invited to join in with some refreshments with what parishioners call, "Lemonade on the Porch" at the adjacent parish House. CEC will resume the regular Sunday worship schedule which includes the 7:30 am, 10:00 am and 11:00 am services in September.

7:45 am Holy Eucharist Rite I

We celebrate an early morning liturgy which includes a sermon. A service without music.

We highly value our Sunday services, but worship and prayer also take on other forms for us. We have well-attended Lenten and holiday services including, for example, a very popular children's Christmas pageant and a moving All Saints service. Recently we have reintroduced a mid-week Eucharist, at noon on Wednesdays.

We celebrate and worship in services we take to nursing homes, and we occasionally involve children in these services. We regularly carry the Eucharist to the ill and disabled, sharing with them the joy of God's love. We have active Intercessors and a Pastoral Care group. We integrate worship with learning during Bible study and in the daily chapel services at Christ Episcopal School. Worship is a high priority of our church community.
