Service TimesWe set aside Sunday as the principal time to gather in Christ's name and hear the Word of God. Although Christ Church has a history of traditional prayer book worship, our three Sunday services meet differing worship needs. The laity participates in leading worship. At the Sunday Eucharist, members of the congregation bring the bread and wine to the Altar at the offertory and serve as lectors for the reading of the lessons. Laity also serve as Acolytes, Lectors, Lay Liturgical Eucharistic Ministers, and Ushers. Frequently, a healing ministry takes place at a side Altar during the distribution of Communion. We highly value our Sunday services, but worship and prayer also take on other forms for us. We have well-attended Lenten and holiday services including, for example, a very popular children's Christmas pageant and a moving All Saints service. We also have reintroduced a mid-week Eucharist, at noon on Wednesdays. We celebrate and worship in services we take to nursing homes, and we occasionally involve children in these services. We regularly carry the Eucharist to the ill and disabled, sharing with them the joy of God's love.
7:45 am Holy Eucharist Rite I
We celebrate an early morning liturgy which includes a sermon. A service without music.
9:00 am Holy Eucharist Rite II
We celebrate children's church during the 9:00 am service, consisting of appropriate psalms, lessons, and musical selections, starting at 9:00 AM. The children join their families in the church at the time of the Peace. The 9:00 a.m. service draws more families with children and tends toward a less formal practice. The early service follows Rite I. The 9:00 am service is always Rite II, and both Rites I and II are seasonally rotated for the 11:00 am service. The two later services include more ceremonial practices, with liturgical processions, chanting of the Sursum Corda and Preface, and rich congregational and choral music.
11:00 am Holy Eucharist Rite II
The 11:00 a.m. service offers a more formal, liturgical style service. The two later services include more ceremonial practices, with liturgical processions, chanting of the Sursum Corda and Preface, and rich congregational and choral music.

We integrate worship with learning during Bible study and in the daily chapel services at Christ Episcopal School. Worship is a high priority of our church community.
