Counters

Counters are a group of volunteer parishioners who count the offerings, one Sunday a month, usually right after the last service. They keep records of contributions and make sure that the offerings are deposited in the bank. The total time required is usually about two hours on an average Sunday. It is hoped that additional volunteers will join (training is simple and easily picked up). Both regulars and substitutes are needed and would be most welcome. Training can be arranged to suit any volunteer.

Memorials Committee

Purpose:
  • Maintain a list of items needed by Christ Church
  • Help clergy and families determine suitable memorial gifts, and recommend acceptance of gifts to the Vestry.
  • Ensure that gifts recommended are needed, and will be used properly
  • Acknowledge donations when received
  • Maintain an accounting of memorial moneys
  • Keep permanent records of memorials and other gifts to the church

Memorial gifts are blessed and dedicated for use at designated times, normally close to Memorial Day and All Saints Day. Our Book of Remembrance is kept in the reliquary in the foyer. It is a beautiful record of memorials done in calligraphy.

Property Committee

The Property Committee has three paid members who maintain the Church and School properties under the direction of the chairman. When necessary, outside contractors are called in to accomplish tasks beyond the scope of the paid staff. We strive to keep the buildings in as good and clean condition as possible with the limited funds available. Our buildings receive heavy use day and night. Careful consideration is given to all expenditures of funds available to the committee.

We need some experts to assist us. If you have any experience in the following fields: electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, computer software and hardware or landscaping, we could use your help. Many times we need advice on maintenance or repair before we go to outside contractors. If you could help us we would appreciate it.
