Community Ministries of Rockvillepools the resources of many of Rockville’s churches to serve the greater community need. Two of our members serve on the Community Ministries Board. Direct support projects include Youth Group support of Sofia House and the Chase Partnership Shelter. Sophia House is a short-term transitional shelter. We prepare and bring in meals to the women of Sophia House on the last day of each month that has 31 days. We hold a paper drive through the month of December to supply the Chase Partnership Men’s Shelter with one month's worth of paper goods.
The Bargain Box thrift and consignment shop is located in downtown Rockville a few blocks from the Church and just north of the Rockville Metro Station. It sells clothing and household items at very affordable prices. All volunteers are members or friends of Christ Church. Bargain Box opened its doors in 1957 and all profits support outreach programs in the local community.
Diocesan Hunger FundThe Diocesan Hunger Fund was founded to help in the “provision of food for hungry people” in the Diocese of Washington. The Hunger Fund depends solely on money donated directly to the Fund. In the Fall, our members, especially our youth, help raise funds by participating in the Region 4 Annual Walk for the Hungry.
Diocesan Hunger WalkThis is a 10K (about 6.6 mile) walk, although you may abbreviate it to 5K (about 3.3 miles), or any distance you choose! We tell you how many times to walk around the lake to cover 5K or 10K, and it's up to you and your sponsors how far you walk. The Hunger Fund needs your help, and this is a great way to raise money for the Fund. Read the Washington Window article at the link below for an idea of the current state of the Fund. Then come out in October for a nice walk in a beautiful area.

The meals are served both on Saturday and Sunday, with 300 or more diners common. We help prepare the meals.
