Edward C. "Ned" Prettyman, was a parishioner at Christ Episcopal Church. He lived in Rockville. At the time of his passing, he was the associate head of operations in the power projection systems department at the lab. In the mid- 1990s, he taught classes at the Johns Hopkins graduate school of engineering. Mr. Prettyman was born in Olney and graduated from Richard Montgomery High School. In 1957, he received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina.
Wallace Oles Keene. Wally served Christ Episcopal Church in many capacities. Wally was happily unique and often surprising--he made the atrocious pun in the name of his consulting operation, "Keene Ideas," not only acceptable but right on. A native of Washington, DC, he was a math graduate of Florida State University, and received a master's in business administration and operations research from American University. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1967, including tours in Vietnam, leaving as a captain. Wally was a managing partner of Keene Ideas, Inc. providing reinvention, reengineering and information management consultant services and educational programs to public and private sector organizations and to academia. A well-respected man, Wally's contributions to our Church, his fraternity, academia and our country will not soon be forgotten.
